RIP Robert Vaughn (22.11.1932 - 11.11.2016)
An awful year takes an awful turn. I know I’m following quite a few people in the MFU fandom, I hope you guys are doing ok. Thoughts, obviously, go to Robert’s wife Linda and children Caitlin and Cassidy.
In a career that spanned almost 70 years, Vaughn essayed an impressive number of iconic characters in both film and television. From Napoleon Solo in The Man From U.N.C.L.E, through Harry Rule in The Protectors to Albert Stroller in Hustle, with appearances in hits like Bullitt, The Magnificent Seven, The Bridge At Remagen and The Towering Inferno. For many though, myself included, Vaughn will always be Napoleon Solo; the kind hearted, witty, loyal, respectful and warm small screen answer to James Bond.
