“That was one of the easiest things of all to do, was to get hot for her! We were very lucky because we had producers that protected us, really. We had a good time; it was very lighthearted and I enjoyed it a lot. I think…I had hoped that we would have a romance in the grand matter and we were really strange because we were really the first couple on television who had a sexual relationship. They could actually *have had* the kids that they were supposed to have. I used to kid around and do a promo for the show and say “my wife Morticia and I are the best-adjusted couple on television”. And people thought that was funny, but it was true. We were well-adjusted and we did have a physical relationship. I don’t mean outside the show —— actually, it is interesting, both of us were attracted to one another, but we didn’t mess around. It was better because there was sort of a magnet and I never mentioned anything like that; I never kidded around about, you know, her *build* or whatever on the set. Other people did, but I never did. I just kept that to myself and so the passion came out in the scenes. And I never asked her how she felt. I just accepted that she loved me a lot and was as ready as I was.”
